Mini-Abdominoplasty better known as a mini-tummy tuck, involves creating a similar incision to the full tummy tuck, in the lower part of the abdomen. A mini-tummy tuck alters and tightens the skin and soft tissue while not disturbing the abdominal muscles. This surgery helps remove the unwanted extra skin and tissue around the lower abdomen while helping you contour the body to your desired shape. This procedure is normally recommended for people who are within their weight range but have accumulated extra fat causing the skin to stretch that they would like to tighten or remove.
During the procedure, your surgeon will join the tissue in your lower abdomen together, and the results from the surgery will not be visible from the outside. Excess skin will also be trimmed, so it can be laid flat.
Depending on the amount of fat your body has accumulated in the area, this procedure will sometimes be paired with liposuction in order to achieve desired results.
In some cases, a mini-tummy tuck can also remove unwanted stretch marks. However, in order to remove your unwanted stretch marks, it may depend on their placement. If this is something you would like to look into, please mention it to your surgeon for assessment.
Here is the difference between a mini-tummy tuck and a full tummy tuck. A mini-tummy tuck is performed on the lower area of the abdomen. While a full-tummy tuck gives the surgeon a larger area to work with on the body. The skin will be stretched and pulled tight around your abdomen to create a flat tummy. Your excess skin will be removed. With a mini tummy tuck the belly button will not be touch, but with a full tummy tuck the surgeon may have to reshape the belly button to achieve your desired look.
