Thigh Lift

A thigh lift is used to improve upon the overall contour of the thigh area. It can also help with removing excess skin that is left over from recent weight loss. A more commonly address area during this procedure is the inner thighs. This procedure is normally performed to help improve and contour the outer thigh while lifting and tightening the skin. Your plastic surgeon will make an incision high on the thigh near the waist, so it can easily be concealed. This procedure can also be combined with a lower body lift, so there are no additional incisions made or liposuction to contour and remove additional fat for a sleeker look of the thigh.

Side Effects

Common side effects that you can experience from this procedure are the following:

  • Swelling
  • Bruising
  • Thigh Numbness
  • Slight scar at the incision site.

If you have any concerns after your procedure, always contact your plastic surgeon for guidance.

What Does The Recovery Time For This Procedure Look Like?

Most patients can return to work within 2 to 4 weeks and should avoid rigorous activities for at least 4 to 6 weeks after receiving this procedure. Patients also tend to experience bruising and swelling. Bruising starts to clear up 2 weeks post-surgery, and swelling tends to start going down typically around the 6-week mark. However, depending on procedure and if you combine procedures it could last for a few months. We will send you home with compression wraps that you will be instructed to wear after surgery to reduce swelling and help with the healing process. Drain tubes may also be suggested.
